The Direct Sheetmetal firewall fit decent. We had to do some fit work around the upper corners to get them to fit good. While we were fitting and welding in the firewall we decided to go ahead and weld in the upper cowl vent and repair some rust in the windshield opening.

The firewall is shown here all welded in.

The rust in the windshield opening was cut out and a new piece was fabricated and welded in.

The opening for the cowl vent was rusted almost beyond repair. We cut and removed the entire vent jamb area so that we could weld in a new piece as if there was never a vent installed from the factory. This made the welded panel turn out a lot nicer because it let us hammer and dolly the metal as we were welding and not have to work around the vent jamb.

Additional rust repairs in the upper windshield area.
